Commercial & Residential Siding

Installing siding is a relatively simple process - if you have years of experience and you know what you're doing! Our process typically begins with looking at your existing siding and seeing if it needs to be repaired or replaced.

If there are enough issues that a replacement is in order, we usually tear down the existing siding. After the siding is removed, we will remove the old vapor barrier and replace it with a modern barrier, tape off the windows, and then waterproof & install flashing on windows, doors and trim. These steps are very important towards making sure that water does not enter your home. After the flashing is installed, we install trim and belly bands, install more flashing on the trim, add the siding, caulk it up, and clean up the whole project.

Siding Repair

We can typically repair all types of siding. We have years and years of experience repairing vinyl siding, cedar siding, or anything else you might have. We can also source and match siding so the repair looks like the original.

Sometimes, siding damage can be caused by lawnmowers throwing rocks, barbecue grills melting portions of it, or weed whackers catching the edge. In these cases, you would probably want to repair a certain section.

When repairing your siding, it’s important to consider if it’s worth patching up an issue or if it would be best to repair the entire thing. For issues such as molds or cracks, that can be an issue that is indicative of a larger project.

Dry Rot Repair

Dry rot can be one of the one most dangerous threats to your house’s interior, especially in New England, and should not to be taken lightly.

Dry rot is decay that is caused by certain types of fungi, and can deteriorate the physical structure of your house. It is often caused by water leakage, especially around windows or doors as a result of improper siding or roofing.

We can help identify areas of your house that might have issues and then come up with a plan to fix them. We can take apart affected sections of your house, remove the window or the problem area, remove & replace any dry rotted wood, and then seal it up and re-instal it all correctly.

For new siding installation projects we also remove and replace dry rotted sheathing as we come come across it. We will always inform you of what we find and what the added cost would to replace dry rotted sheathing and wood.
